Nethertown Farm, South Derbyshire Smallholding

Welcome to my online shop for my crafts

My name is Anne and I live in the South Derbyshire village of Hartshorne which is in the 'Heart of the National Forest'.

I keep rare breed sheep (Balwen, Badgerface, Oeussants and Rylands) together with Alpacas, Goats, Geese, Chickens and Ducks. All of these are allowed to live out their natural life spans (some are 15 years +)

Everything that you see in the shop is designed and made by myself using wool from my sheep and alpacas.

My crafting philosophy

Be Unique, Be Sustainable, Use British

No two items being identical

Environmentally sustainable

Buy Local and Buy British

Just as none of my sheep are the same, the same can be said for my crafts where I develop the idea, create the design and then make the items here in my small workshop here on the farm

My rare breed sheep and alpacas graze freely on my small holding and are sheered each year. The fleeces are cleaned, washed and worked by myself.

Where possible all elements used in the process of creating my craft products are biodegradable and any additional fabrics used are repurposed/ recycled and containing natural fibres (Cotton/hemp/wool/silk)

It is a key part of my crafting that where ever possible I use material and products that have been made by British companies. I feel it is vital that we support British Farmers and British Manufacturers wherever we can, the more local the better.

Reduce, Reuse, Remake, Recycle
